Individual Bursaries

As a health professional, you can apply for a bursary of up to £1,500 to contribute towards the cost of educational activities focused on prostate cancer and other prostate diseases. 

Applications for this financial year are now closed. If you wish to apply for funding for the next financial year, please ensure your application is submitted by Sunday 19 May 2024 to be considered at the next assessment panel week commencing on the Monday 20 May 2024.

You must be currently employed as a registered health, allied health or social care professional in the UK, and provide reasonable evidence of this if your application is successful.  

You must be registered with an appropriate regulatory body (General Medical Council (GMC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or similar) and be able to provide details of this in the application form

The bursary funds of up to £1,500 can only cover the costs of your chosen educational activity. Please note that any travel or accommodation expenses will not be covered by the fund.

All applications will be assessed fairly by our Prostate Cancer UK judging panel, week commencing 22 April 2024. You can submit your application ahead of the deadline on Sunday 21 April 2024

You can apply for multiple bursaries over the UK financial year (from the beginning of April 2024 to the end of March 2025). However, we can only award a maximum of £1,500 per applicant within that time.

All applications received by the closing date will be closely considered by our Prostate Cancer UK judging panel. Our panel is made up of members with direct experience of healthcare and/or knowledge of the prostate specialist pathway.  

We’ll evaluate your application based on five priority areas:  

  1. Support men over 45 in the UK to understand their risk of prostate cancer and provide them with the information and tools to navigate it. 
  2. Facilitate equal care everywhere - regardless of ethnicity, location or income. 
  3. Transform testing for prostate cancer, to give every man the best chance of finding the disease early enough for a cure. 
  4. Research powerful, precise treatments to save and extend men's lives. 
  5. Provide personalised support for men at every stage.
