Working for us


Full-time staff work 37.5 hours per week.

Annual leave

28 days per annum for all full-time staff plus public holidays. The leave year runs from 1 April - 31 March.

Agile working

Employees can work away from their office location, vary working hours and days in a way that enables them to achieve their best performance. Agile working is a style of working; there is no automatic right for employees to work in this way and it is not a contractual right. Core hours are 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday, unless otherwise agreed.

Pension scheme

Employees are auto-enrolled into our contributory Group Personal Pension scheme after 2 full months’ service. Staff can elect to join from the start of their employment or opt out of the scheme.

  • If you pay 3%, we will pay 5%
  • If you pay 4%, we will pay 6%
  • If you pay 5%, we will pay 7%
  • Pay date  

    Paid monthly in arrears on or near to the 24th of the month.

  • Probationary period  

    All positions are subject to a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months, which includes a formal 3 month review meeting.

  • Sick Pay  

    Up to 2 weeks’ full pay during your probationary period, rising to up to for 4 weeks’ full pay and 9 weeks’ half pay over a 12 month rolling period.

  • Life Assurance/Group Income Protection Schemes  

    We currently provide non-contractual Group Life Assurance (3 times your basic annual salary) and Group Income Protection Plans (75% of normal income prior to incapacity less employment and support allowances should you be unable to work for over 13 weeks).

  • Cycle to Work Scheme  

    The cycle to work scheme allows you to purchase a bike through the charity up to the value of £1,000.

  • Season Ticket Loan  

    This interest free travel loan enables you to buy an annual season ticket and repay it over 6 or 12 months.

  • Childcare Voucher Scheme  

    This salary sacrifice scheme is a way of converting part of your gross salary into vouchers to help pay for your childcare, e.g, nursery, school or holiday club.

  • EAP 24 hour advice line  

    A free 24 hour confidential telephone counselling service available 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Available to your spouse/partner and children under the age of 21 living at home.

  • Staff Benefits Portal  

    Choose your own benefits, from subsidised gym membership, shopping discounts, cheaper tickets to the cinema and theatre, and a host of other money-saving deals. Staff have saved on average 8%.

  • Learning & Development  

    All staff have access to online training - from basic IT skills to professional development - as well as internal and external learning and development opportunities.
