Prostate Cancer UK is seeking to recruit a trustee to join the Board of Trustees to help provide oversight and guidance for turning our strategy into a reality and stopping prostate cancer being a killer.
The board is responsible for overseeing the strategic agenda for the charity as well as providing the required high level of governance. The board comprises individuals with the specific talents needed to provide oversight for the development of the objectives and strategy of the charity. We are now seeking to recruit a candidate with a background in marketing and advertising with experience of contemporary communication techniques.
Prostate Cancer UK has grown rapidly over the past few years, both in terms of revenue and awareness, and we are planning to capitalise on this through a programme of ambitious income growth.
We need someone who can provide the necessary disciplines to help our team deliver this growth - someone who can advise on the development of communication strategies, and the use of consumer insights to inform our decisions.
It is vital that the candidate understands the importance of the high level of accountability needed and the fundamental requirement for optimising the use of charity resources. There is a dedicated revenue and marketing resource within the charity, and it is essential that the appointee forges a good working relationship with them.
The candidate will probably have achieved management status at the highest level, and will have experience of working collaboratively with management boards, and can demonstrate that they can add tangible value at a strategic level.
The Board meets four times each year in London, with an annual strategy day in addition, and the appointee would be expected also to join the Board Business Development Committee, which meets quarterly and to attend any additional Board workshops/seminars as appropriate.
